Service Description
Zoopharmacognosy is the practice of animals self-medicating by selecting and consuming plants with medicinal properties. While this self-selection process can be seen by dogs naturally in their environment, with limitations on the plants they have access to - applied zoopharmacognosy allows the carer to provide a wider range of natural remedies for their dogs to benefit from. By allowing our dogs to use their instinct and incredible sense of smell, we are able to provide them with a way to communicate what they need—emotionally or physically. In this two-part workshop, I'll discuss the theory (the how, why, and what works with dogs using this method), walk through some incredible case studies, and then demonstrate the process with some selected dogs attending the weekend.
